Rockshox and randoms

Rockshox didn’t have too many new products for 2009 as the Sid has just had its overhaul, the Lyric and the Totem their small revisions, and the Reba and Revelation their updates. There are a few revisions to the line-up however and some great new colourways throughout the range. The biggest news of course was the “new Boxxer” which is penned for release early ’09. This is the Boxxer chassis which the “Blackbox” riders have been on for the duration of the season, and is obviously proving its potential to have a release date slated so soon in its testing phase.

Excuse my laziness, but here is a pic of the 2009 Boxxer spec sheet:

B-Box[ing]

Not to be outdone by Truvativ, Karl Nicolai who some would view as the leader in gearbox incorporation into the bicycle industry was showcasing his own take on a two gear planetary system for bicycles, much like the Hammerschmidt, the B-Box, as Nicolai will be calling it, will mount onto the frames ISCG 03 or ISCG 05 tabs and work much in the same way as the Truvativ system. What advantages will it offer? Well to be honest I am not sure, unfortunately there was not a ridable sample at the show, but I have no doubt that with Karl’s experience in this field and their renown German engineering it will have somewhat of an upperhand. Again I guess only time will tell, here are some pics for you to drool over in the meantime:
