XC World Champs Track Preview

Australia is the host country of this years Mountain Bike World Championships which will take place from the 1st to the 6th September 2009 in Stromlo forest park Canberra. First hosting a UCI event in 2008, Canberra put on a successful World Cup Cross Country and Downhill despite its lack of elevation and slope. For this years World Championships they have pulled out all the stops in order to ensure that both courses meet and exceed the expectations of the riders, spectators and officials. Well known from their 2008 event for enhancing the terrain by building many man-made obstacles the 2009 course seems to be no different offering riders a vast variety of fast, smooth and slow technical sections.

The video below is a brief preview of what one can expect from the XC:

Seems to be a great platform to offer excellent racing, although over-taking will be extremely difficult pedigreed World Cup riders are very much used to having to “make” their own lines in order to make a pass work. Can’t wait to catch this one live once again thanks to the guys from Freecaster.tv its sure to offer some great action.
